What is the difference between gravel shoes and pure road shoes?

Gravel shoes have a treaded sole and recessed 2-bolt cleats, so you can also walk comfortably on sections where you push the bike. A reinforced toe cap also protects against contact with stones and roots, while the sole stiffness is still designed for efficient power transfer over long distances. Adjustable closure systems allow fine adjustment during rides of several hours, when your feet can swell slightly from the effort.

Tip: With gravel shoes, look for a slightly grippier sole than on pure road models – this makes short pushing sections on slippery or loose ground easier.
