Mixed with less water, the drink is isotonic; with more water, it is hypotonic and therefore slightly thinner. The exact amounts are on the pack.
On long rides, a carbohydrate drink provides energy and fluid in one and so replaces part of your solid food.
Tip: Rinse the bottle straight after the ride. Otherwise sugary residue dries in the valve and starts to smell.
