Saddle and frame bags
Both solutions hold tools, an inner tube and small parts without anything pressing in your jersey pockets.
Saddle bag
It hangs under the saddle and does not get in the way on the frame or when pedalling. Small models hold a tube, tyre levers and a multi-tool; larger ones are big enough for a rain jacket and food. Make sure the bag does not rub on the rear wheel if the saddle is low.
Frame bag
It sits in the frame triangle and keeps the weight low and central, which makes the bike ride more calmly on gravel and off-road. However, it takes up the space for the bottle, completely or partly depending on the frame size.
Measure your frame triangle before you order. The manufacturers' figures refer to medium frame sizes; on small bikes, the same bag often does not fit.
