Which protection level?
With ION protectors, many riders choose light knee pads for rides with long climbs, which can also be worn uphill. If you mainly ride downhill, you accept more weight for more protection.
The fit is important: the protector must stay in place when you pedal and must not slip in a fall.
Tip: Test knee pads in the riding position before you buy. A protector that fits when you stand can press into the back of your knee when you pedal.
