The chamois pad is tailored to female anatomy and works together with the strap tension: the shorts stay in the same place even during hard efforts, which is a prerequisite for the pad to work at all. A pad that has slipped is worse than a thin one.
Flatlock-stitched leg endings with silicone stop the shorts from riding up your thighs.
Tip: Before a long ride, apply a little chamois cream to the contact points. This reduces friction at the seams.
