Two items, two jobs
An under-helmet cap is a thin cap worn under the helmet. It keeps your forehead and ears warm and absorbs sweat before it runs into your eyes. Because it fits closely, the helmet still sits firmly on top, as long as the size of the helmet allows it.
A tubular scarf is a tube of fabric that you can wear as a neck scarf, as a headband or pulled over your mouth and nose. Merino is considered a fibre that still keeps you warm when damp and picks up odours less quickly than pure synthetic fibres. For cool mornings or the descent from the pass, a scarf like this is a small, light item that you can always have with you.
Tip: With an under-helmet cap, the helmet needs a little more space. Readjust the dial at the back of your head once before the first ride.
