Gore Wear rain jackets for men are built for rides in persistent rain. They must not only stay waterproof from above, but also against spray from the front wheel and against water that the wind presses into the fabric as you ride.
How do you recognise a cycling rain jacket?
A rain jacket for cycling is much longer at the back than at the front so that the spray from the rear wheel does not reach your back. The sleeves are long enough for the stretched-out position at the handlebar. A high collar closes off at your neck, and the seams are taped. Reflective details help you to be seen in rain and darkness.
The membrane lets water vapour pass from the inside to the outside. During hard efforts, however, this is still not enough to stay completely dry. Vents or a two-way zip help on the climb.
Tip: Do not leave a wet rain jacket crumpled up in your bag. Hang it up to dry, otherwise the coating suffers.
