A lightly brushed inner fabric provides extra warmth without restricting breathability too much on the climb. The back pockets are retained.
The temperature range covered is narrower than it first appears: below about 8 °C, the long-sleeve jersey is usually no longer enough on its own; above that, it is preferable to a jacket because it does not get too warm as quickly.
Tip: Do not leave the jersey crumpled up after the ride. Damp fabric quickly starts to smell.
