Bike front lights
There are two types, and they serve different purposes. A sports light without approval shines wider and further, but is not permitted in public road traffic in Germany. A light with StVZO approval has a beam cut off at the top, which does not dazzle oncoming traffic.
Burn time
The manufacturer's figure usually refers to the lowest setting. Expect much less at full power, especially in the cold, because batteries lose capacity at low temperatures.
