Bike accessories for better visibility

Visibility does not end with the jacket. The small items in particular are on parts of the body that move, and movement is recognised faster in traffic than a static surface.
Where reflection helps most
Overshoes and socks with reflective elements are the most effective, because the feet describe the largest circle when pedalling. Gloves with a reflective back work when turning, exactly at the moment when you need to be seen. Helmets with reflective stickers or a light-coloured shell add visibility at the top.
It makes sense to think about distribution: if you concentrate everything in one place, you create a point of light. If you distribute elements over your body, hands and feet, you are recognised as a person on a bike, and that changes how other road users behave.
A frequently overlooked point is luggage. A backpack covers exactly the reflective surfaces on your back, where following traffic looks. If you regularly ride with a backpack, you need visibility on the backpack itself or a vest over it.
Reflective accessories only work in headlights. At dusk, when many drivers are still driving without lights, active lighting remains essential.
