The material passes sweat on to the clothing above instead of holding it. The difference is not felt during the effort, but afterwards: on the descent, at the traffic lights, during a break.
The fit is snug and does not add bulk under the jersey. A loose-fitting base layer loses its function because it lacks the skin contact through which the moisture transport takes place in the first place.
Tip: Cotton has no place under a jersey. It absorbs moisture and hardly releases it, which is the opposite of what a base layer is for.
