Do you need gloves for indoor cycling?
For indoor cycling, gloves are not necessary because neither the risk of crashing nor the cold plays a role. Some riders still wear thin gloves because their hands sweat a lot on the turbo trainer and slip on the handlebars.
A lightweight glove with a grippy palm then provides grip. Thin padding can reduce pressure on your palms during long sessions. Indoor gloves are more breathable than outdoor models because no weather protection is needed.
For most riders, gloves remain a matter of preference.
Tip: Stretch a sweat guard between the handlebars and the saddle. It catches the sweat that would otherwise drip onto the stem, headset and frame and cause corrosion there.
