Jackets are the area where Gore Wear shows its origins most clearly: the brand belongs to W. L. Gore & Associates, the manufacturer of the GORE-TEX membrane.
One jacket or several?
If you ride all year round, one jacket is rarely enough. A light wind jacket covers spring and autumn and fits in your jersey pocket. A rain jacket is intended for days when it rains for longer. A thermal jacket is the outer layer for the cold and is worn for the whole ride. If you only want to spend money on one jacket, ask yourself what weather you ride in most often.
Tip: Try on a cycling jacket while sitting on the bike, or at least in a bent-over position. The sleeves must then still reach over your wrists and your back must stay covered.
