Which overshoes are suitable for continuous rain?

For continuous rain, overshoes with a waterproof membrane and taped seams are suitable. They keep your cycling shoes dry even on long rides in the rain, while water-repellent models let water through after a while.

At the bottom, the overshoes have openings for the cleat and the heel. Reflective details increase visibility, because it is often darker in the rain. A cuff that reaches above the ankle stops water from running into the shoe from above.

If you want to use your normal shoes in the rain as well, overshoes save you from buying special rain shoes.

Tip: Pull your rain trousers over the overshoe, not under it. Otherwise, water runs down your leg into the shoe.
