Why team colours work for glasses

Unlike clothing, glasses are not size-critical and fit regardless of build. They are therefore the easiest way to show a connection to a team without wearing a complete jersey. Conversely, glasses in team colours do not look out of place even if you otherwise ride in neutral clothing.

Technically, the team versions are the same as the regular models. The difference is in the frame colour and sometimes in special lettering, not in the lenses.

One point that many underestimate is compatibility with the helmet. High frames hit the front of some helmets, and the arms must fit cleanly under the straps. If you combine glasses and helmet from the same brand, they are usually designed to work together.

Look at the lens tint rather than the frame colour. A very dark lens makes sense in a race, but is a hindrance on forest paths and at dusk; models with interchangeable lenses solve this.
