Underpants without a chamois pad are not worn under cycling shorts, but under casual trousers or bike shorts that do not have a pad of their own, or as a base layer for other sports. Under padded cycling shorts, on the other hand, additional underpants get in the way, because their seams rub against the chamois pad.

Tip: For tours in bike shorts without a pad, choose padded cycling undershorts. They replace the pad that the outer shorts lack.
