Why not wear a cap under the helmet?
The stiff, long peak of a cap does not fit under a bike helmet and would push the helmet backwards. If you want a peak on the bike, choose the classic cycling cap with a short, soft peak that you can flip up. Otherwise, cycling glasses are the usual solution for sun in your face.
In summer, peaked caps protect you from the sun after the ride; in the rain, they keep water out of your eyes.
Tip: For running, choose a cap with a reflective detail when it gets dark early or late.
