Which pump?
A mini pump from Specialized is light and fits in your jersey pocket, but needs a lot of strokes. A floor pump with a pressure gauge inflates the tyre quickly at home and shows the pressure precisely. Road tyres need high pressure at low volume, and MTB tyres low pressure at high volume; the pump is designed accordingly.
Tip: For tubeless tyres, use a floor pump with a pressure chamber. The powerful burst of air pushes the tyre out of the rim well against the rim hook so that it seals.
