Gravel cycling jackets

On long gravel rides, the jacket you have with you is worth more than the one hanging at home. Light wind and rain jackets with a small pack size are therefore the most common choice. They disappear into the jersey pocket or frame bag and come out when the wind turns on the ridge.

For the details, check the ventilation. Unlike on a road bike, you often ride more slowly off-road with more effort, and heat builds up faster. Zips under the arms or a mesh back help more than an additional membrane layer. A slightly looser cut lets you wear a mid layer underneath.

Check whether the jacket packs into its own pocket. This saves space and prevents it from rubbing loosely in the frame bag.
