Retro cycling shorts take up the look of the 1970s and 1980s: black base colour, simple side stripes, wide straps, no large logos.
Classic look, modern technology
The similarity is only on the outside. Where wool and a leather insert used to serve as the pad, today's models use elastic Lycra and a multi-layer chamois pad.
The simple look goes with the classic jerseys and the more upright riding position on steel frames with flatter handlebars.
There are two versions of the straps. Wide, elastic straps match the classic look and are comfortable on long rides. Narrower straps look more modern and are less bulky under the jersey.
