The classic look includes more than a jersey and shorts. It is the small items in particular that decide whether the overall look is right.

The details that carry the style

The best-known item is the cycling cap under the helmet. It comes from a time when helmets were not yet compulsory and is now a fixed part of classic rides.

The materials are mainly wool, cotton and leather with a matt look. Functionally, these are compromises; visually, they make the difference.

There are also matching items for the bike itself: handlebar tape with a leather look, classic bottles and simple bottle cages suit the overall look. Functionally, they are not better than today's solutions, but they complete the look on classic rides.

Wear the cycling cap with the peak down as soon as it rains or the sun is low; this keeps spray and glare out of your eyes.
