Warm and easy to operate

A good Shimano winter glove keeps out the headwind and cold while staying thin enough for you to operate the gears and brakes safely. Models with a membrane also keep out moisture. In severe cold, thicker insulation helps, but it reduces your feel for the handlebar.

If you ride often in winter, it is best to have two pairs ready: one pair can dry while you use the other.

Tip: Warm the gloves in the inside pocket of your jacket before the ride. Cold material chills your hands immediately.
