What makes a cycling sock different?
In a cycling shoe, your foot hardly moves, but it works constantly against the sole. A cycling sock is therefore thin, so that the shoe fits closely, and wicks sweat away from the foot. In summer, short, airy models are common; in winter, higher and thicker socks, often with wool, which still keeps you warm when damp.
The length is also a question of style. In road cycling, socks that reach above the ankle are now considered standard.
Tip: Try on winter cycling socks together with your winter shoes. A thick sock in a shoe that is too tight restricts circulation and gives you cold feet.
