What a summer glove has to deliver off-road
In summer, ventilation is important so that your hands do not sweat and slip on the handlebar. Thin materials on the back of the hand let air through, and a grippy palm holds even in the wet. Padding in the palm is controversial off-road: it dampens impacts but takes away feel for the handlebar.
A short cuff at the wrist with a hook-and-loop fastener or a slip-on cuff without a fastener are both common solutions. Slip-on cuffs are less bulky and do not press.
Tip: Choose close-fitting gloves. Excess fabric at the fingertips makes precise one-finger braking more difficult.
