Gore Wear bike shorts for men are wide shorts for mountain biking, trails and tours off the road. They look like normal shorts and are designed for riders who do not want to ride off-road in close-fitting Lycra.
With or without a chamois pad?
Bike shorts are sold either with padded inner shorts or without. Without inner shorts, you wear padded cycling undershorts or cycling shorts underneath. For short rides in the woods, some riders are also fine with shorts without any pad at all.
The outer material is more robust than on road cycling shorts so that it withstands contact with branches, rocks and the saddle when you get on and off. Side pockets hold keys or bars. You can wear knee pads under the shorts.
Tip: Try on bike shorts with your own knee pads. The leg of the shorts should reach over the upper edge of the pads so that there is no gap.
