Flat pedal shoes for trail & enduro

A particularly grippy rubber sole ensures a secure hold on the pedal surface despite the lack of a clipless system, while a stiffer midsole still provides efficient power transfer on climbs.

For technical descents where you often briefly put a foot down, flat pedal shoes also offer more flexibility than a firmly clipped-in system, where getting out under time pressure can be more difficult.

However, doing without a clipless system also means a certain loss of efficiency on pure climbs, which is why some riders deliberately choose between flat and clipless pedals depending on the route profile.

Tip: With flat pedal shoes, look for a rubber compound on the sole that is as soft as possible but grippy – this noticeably improves contact with the pedal compared to harder soles.
