ASSOS cycling gilets for men
The principle works because heat loss is unevenly distributed. The torso faces the headwind head-on and cools fastest, while the arms are kept warm by pedalling. A gilet covers exactly this area and traps less heat than a jacket.
Models with a mesh back ventilate better, versions with a closed back also protect against spray coming up from the wheel. Both can usually be folded up small.
Tip: Wear the gilet over the jersey, not under it. Worn under the jersey, it blocks the back pockets and creases at the shoulders.
