A bike computer measures via a magnet or GPS and shows speed, distance and time. The difference between the classes is what it offers beyond that.
Basic or GPS
Wireless basic devices are inexpensive, run for years on a button cell and need no setup. GPS devices record routes, navigate and connect to sensors, but need to be charged regularly.
