Sleeveless, short or long sleeves?
The sleeve length depends on the season. In summer, a sleeveless base layer is the thinnest layer and stops the jersey from sticking to your back. A short-sleeve model covers the transitional season. In winter, a long-sleeve base layer is the warming base layer under your jacket and jersey.
More important than the thickness is that the base layer fits closely. Only then does it absorb sweat directly. Base layers with a windproof front are a special version for cold days when you ride without a jacket.
Tip: Tuck the base layer into your cycling shorts or pull it under the straps. This way, it does not ride up in your riding position.
