This reduces creases and pressure points around the stomach and is noticeable on aerodynamic rides and time trials. A one-piece also lies flatter on the back, because no waistband pushes it upwards.
The price for this is less flexibility: when the temperature changes, you can only open the zip, not remove a layer.
Tip: Choose a one-piece with the ride duration in mind. For races and short fast rides it has the advantage, for long tours with breaks the two-piece combination is more practical.
