What is chamois cream for?
It reduces friction between skin and chamois pad.
Use
The cream is applied to the skin, not to the pad. After the ride, it is washed off, and the shorts go in the wash. Dried cream in the pad promotes exactly the bacteria it is used against.
Differences
There are cooling versions with menthol and neutral ones without. Products for women are milder, because the skin there is more sensitive.
