Sports bras for cycling have a different job than for running. The shocks are lower. But the posture is bent forward all the time, and the shoulders carry the load for hours.

What to look for when cycling

Flat seams and wide, padded straps come first. In a forward-leaning position, the weight of the upper body rests differently, and a narrow strap cuts in after the second hour.

Moisture wicking is just as important. The sports bra is the bottom layer, and what stays there cools down on the descent. Underwires are more of a hindrance on the bike, because in a bent position they press exactly on the rib cage.

Wear only one layer under the jersey. A sports bra and an extra undershirt on top of each other hinder moisture wicking more than the extra warmth helps.
