Warmth without overheating
A cycling thermal jacket has to do two things at once. It should keep you warm at low speed and on descents and still let moisture out on climbs. That is why winter jackets are usually made of several materials: windproof on the chest and arms and more breathable on the back.
Under the jacket you wear a base layer, for example from Löffler's transtex range, and in severe cold a long sleeve jersey as well.
Tip: Try the jacket on with the clothing you want to wear underneath. Over a thick base layer, it should not feel tight at the shoulders.
