Bib tights
Bib tights keep your back and belly warm without a waistband cutting in. On long rides, that is the difference you notice after the third hour.
For cold days
Below about 10°C, they replace the combination of bib shorts and leg warmers. That combination becomes uncomfortable then, because too many layers meet.
Breaks on the road
The bathroom stop is the well-known problem with bib tights. Models with a front zipper or with detachable straps solve it, without having to take off jacket and jersey. On women's models, this is now widespread.
Elastic cuffs at the ankles keep the legs from riding up while you pedal.
