Sleeveless jerseys

A sleeveless jersey leaves shoulders and upper arms free. In heat, it is the coolest cut there is, and in training, a question of comfort.

The downside

Uncovered shoulders get the full sun, for hours and from an angle you do not notice while riding. Sun protection is part of this cut, not as a recommendation but as a requirement.

In races

For competitions, sleeveless jerseys are not permitted in road cycling. The rules require sleeves. This does not apply to training, touring, and everyday riding.
