What makes a short sleeve jersey

When you stand, a jersey is too long at the back and too short at the front. On the bike, it fits.

Short sleeve jerseys at a glance

The zipper is the simplest temperature control there is. Open it fully on the climb, close it on the descent. Short zippers down to the chest still exist, but full-length zippers are now the standard.

Back pockets

Three pockets at the back are common, some with an extra small zippered pocket for keys and a card. Load them from the outside in: heavy items go low and in the middle. Otherwise the jersey pulls backward while you ride.

Fit

A race jersey fits close so that nothing flaps.
