Movistar Team: The oldest existing WorldTour team!

Since 1980, the team has enjoyed success under various names and represents Spanish cycling like no other. The great Miguel Indurain celebrated all five of his Tour de France victories with the team, and the most recent Grand Tour title came in 2018 with Richard Carapaz.

Throughout all these years, there has been only one man in charge of the team. Eusebio Unzué has led the squad with an iron hand since 1980, and it is expected that his son will one day follow in his footsteps. The team is proud of its Spanish identity and has therefore always placed great trust in Spanish-speaking riders.

Movistar x Gobik

Even though sporting success has declined somewhat in recent years, the team has continued to evolve in terms of style and design. A key factor in this development is Gobik. With Gobik, the team has not only found an apparel manufacturer that shares its Spanish identity, but also one that has helped revolutionize the concept of team kits.

Gobik set out to be the first brand to offer truly stylish jerseys for teams—an approach that is clearly reflected in their professional outfits. With minimalist designs that still feature highlights such as subtle neon accents, Movistar jerseys have consistently been fan favorites in the peloton in recent years.

However, Gobik doesn’t just develop cycling apparel for professionals—it develops it together with them. No one spends more time on the bike or feels even the smallest changes in a chamois more than pro riders. That’s exactly why Gobik uses their feedback to offer the best possible apparel for amateur cyclists as well.
