Jayco AlUla: World Tour from Down Under
The Jayco AlUla team has existed under various names since 2012 and has always raced under an Australian license.
Even though the team has always been internationally structured, it has consistently maintained its Aussie mentality while focusing on domestic talent. Founded as Team Orica-GreenEdge, it later evolved through names such as Orica Scott, Mitchelton Scott, and BikeExchange Jayco before becoming the current Team Jayco-AlUla in 2023.
During this period, Australian legends such as Stuart O’Grady, Robbie McEwen, Michael Matthews, and Caleb Ewan all called the team their home. However, the most important success in the team’s history came in 2018 with the overall victory at the Vuelta a España.
Equally unforgettable is the surprise victory of Matthew Hayman at Paris-Roubaix in 2016. The rider himself could hardly believe his luck, and to this day the race is considered by fans to be one of the most emotional victories in cycling history.
MAAP Brings Style to the WorldTour
Since 2025, the team has been equipped by MAAP. This collaboration represents a major step forward for the WorldTour.
Not only do the two partners perfectly match in terms of identity—MAAP also places great emphasis on its Australian origins—but they also complement each other both stylistically and technically. Until a few years ago, functionality was placed above style in cycling, especially in professional racing.
Although the sport has always carried a certain level of vanity, influences from established fashion brands were rather rare. In recent years, however, this has changed. In the WorldTour, Team EF Education first brought real style into the peloton with its striking pink jerseys and collaborations with the skate brand Palace.
Cycling in general has also become younger and more style-conscious. MAAP was among the first brands to combine fashion and cycling. They have been so successful that their clothing can now be found not only in bike shops but also in boutiques around the world. In terms of fashion, the brand had already reached the top of cycling—but now it wanted to compete functionally with established leaders such as Castelli and Assos.
The Perfect Symbiosis
To continue developing technically, constructive feedback is essential. No one can provide this better than professional riders. They spend half their lives in the saddle and know exactly what matters. Today, every team also has performance managers and engineers who, like the brands themselves, aim to optimize every hundredth of a second.
This allowed MAAP to work closely with the team to develop and refine new garments. Neither expense nor effort was spared: wind tunnel testing was conducted, and continuous rider feedback helped improve properties such as breathability.
The result is a collection featuring jerseys designed to provide aerodynamic advantages and bib shorts that prevent saddle discomfort even during the grueling demands of races like the Tour de France.
On the other hand, the team received a kit that was immediately regarded by many as one of the most stylish professional kits ever created and even attracted attention within the fashion world.
High-Performance Bikes for a High-Performance Team
Besides clothing, the bikes themselves must also be optimized down to the smallest detail. That is why the team relies on strong partners. After long collaborations with Scott and Bianchi, the team has been riding Giant bikes since 2022. For the women’s team, Giant’s women-specific brand Liv even serves as title sponsor. The Taiwanese manufacturer also supplies the team’s helmets.
When it comes to shoes, riders are theoretically free to choose their own models, but many rely on Shimano.
The Collections
Jayco-AlUla / GreenEdge
The official team design with the official sponsors. With this kit, riders look exactly like the professionals in the race. Many items in the collection are worn 1:1 by the team in competition, while others are designed more for training purposes.
Fan Line / WorldTour: WorldTour Design Without Sponsors
The WorldTour line from Jayco AlUla uses the same design as the official race kit but deliberately omits sponsors. Many fans love the look of team kits but do not want to feel like a walking billboard. For the first time ever, MAAP and the team have therefore released the WorldTour kit without the associated sponsors, creating a clean aesthetic that still shows support for the team.
Long and Short
MAAP aims to keep its product range selective. The collections are not huge, but every piece is carefully thought out down to the last detail. Accordingly, the Australians offer their top product lines—such as the Pro Air and Team Series—both as long-sleeve jerseys and short-sleeve jerseys, as well as short and long bib shorts. This allows riders to wear their favorite pieces in almost any conditions.
Casual Wear
In line with the brand’s fashion-forward approach, MAAP also provides the team with highly stylish off-bike apparel. Heavy organic cotton combined with an oversized fit makes these pieces both fashionable and comfortable when the riders are not on their bikes.
