However, the race was neck and neck for a long time: Although Vingegaard secured the yellow jersey early on and held onto it, it was only a performance drop by Pogacar in the final two stages that allowed Vingegaard to build the substantial time difference. The polka dot jersey with red dots on a white background is for the best climber. The green jersey is for the best sprinter. And of course, there is also the yellow jersey for the winner of the overall classification.

Jumbo Visma was able to dominate the jerseys in 2022: The polka dot jersey and the Yellow jersey went to the winner Vingegaard, Wout van Aert convincingly claimed the green jersey as the best sprinter. Only the youth classification did not go to Jumbo Visma, but to Team UAE and Pogačar.

Tour de France Femmes 2023

The Tour de France Femmes 2023 starts in Auvergne, simultaneously with the end of the men's tour in Paris. The first stage includes a challenging climb on the Cote de Durtol, providing a good opportunity for attacks. The second stage goes from Clermont-Ferrand to Mauriac and features several categorized climbs, including a final ramp to the finish. The third stage could offer a chance for the sprinters, while the fourth stage with Ardennes Classics-like profiles favors the punchers. The fifth stage is hilly and unpredictable, while the sixth stage is ideal for sprinters on a flat finish. The queen stage concludes on the famous Col du Tourmalet, where a decision in the battle for the overall victory is expected. The Tour de France Femmes 2023 ends with an individual time trial around Pau, determining the final winner of the tour.
